We've Been Named Eaton Smith Business of the Month
We’re proud to have been named Eaton Smith’s Business of the Month for September 2026.
Last Thursday we were presented with the award at Eaton Smith’s offices, where we had the chance to meet the team. As a family-run self storage business in Huddersfield, we’ve worked hard to get here, so it meant a lot.
The win also puts us in the running for Eaton Smith’s Business of the Year Award.
About the award
Eaton Smith's Business of the Month Award recognises businesses across Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield. Each month, a judging panel picks one winner based on innovation, community impact and overall success.
This month's panel was chaired by Ben Jackson, Partner at Eaton Smith. He was joined by Emma Sinfield of Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, Annie Bradley of the Department for Business and Trade, and Scott Harrison of Santander.
We were chosen for our expansion, our commitment to customer service and high standards, and the contribution we've made across Huddersfield.
"MoorSpace is an excellent example of a family business that has grown through listening to its customers." Ben Jackson, Partner, Eaton Smith

From 20 containers to 100+ indoor units
We started in 2017 as George Street Self Storage, with 20 container units in Milnsbridge. Our second site in Crosland Moor followed.
In late 2025 we rebranded as MoorSpace. In April 2026 we opened our indoor self storage facility, with more than 100 units. Today we offer indoor units and outdoor container storage across our Crosland Moor and Milnsbridge sites.
"We've come a long way from starting out with just 20 containers in Milnsbridge." Christopher Betts, MoorSpace Storage Co
We're accredited by the Self Storage Association (SSA) and the Container Self Storage & Traders Association (CSTA). We were also recently named a finalist in the FEDESSA External Storage Site of the Year Awards.
Part of the local community
Supporting Huddersfield matters to us. We're a corporate partner of Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, and we offer discounted storage to the Children's Air Ambulance as well as regularly supporting other charities.
We're proud to partner with Huddersfield Town, Golcar Cricket Club and Golcar United's under-eights.
What's next
A big thank you to Eaton Smith and the judging panel, and to every customer who has stored with us since those first 20 containers. We've got our fingers crossed for Business of the Year. Until then, it's business as usual at MoorSpace.
